Singapore 2022: Day 3

Read: Day 1 & Day 2

It's our third day in sunny Singapore! But still we couldn't get enough of their food! We skipped breakfast and headed straight to Tiong Bahru to try their local dish in the area.

Day 3
Tiong Bahru + Library@Orchard + National Art Gallery + Merlion

We travelled to Tiong Bahru for our first meal of the day. We've actually been eating at hawker centers for our meals, because we wanted to taste their local dishes. Also, it's famous there! Though there are many variants to choose from, you'll still find one local dish that you'll later thank yourself for. We tried their braised duck, pork buns, and noodles. We had an amazing kick starter for our fully-loaded day.

When were about to finish, my mom saw from the other table (yes, she was very observant 👀) that they were eating these pork buns, or we call it locally as siopao. She liked them so much that we had to buy even if we were almost full. No regrets since they were delicious! ♥

Orchard
What's a meal without a dessert? We had to try this famous 1 SGD ice cream along Orchard Rd. For a very sunny day, having an ice cream is such a joy! I got myself the Mint Chocolate Chip one (I don't remember the exact flavor name) and it was SO GOOD. I paired it wafer. ♥

We headed to Orchard Gateway to visit library@orchard. It's one of the famous spots there. And even if tourists may flock the place, silence is very much observed. To be fair, it's an actual library where people read and study. 😅 So when my sister and I went inside, we tried not to make so much noise. We took a couple of photos and videos because everything is instagrammable. If we only had much time, we would stay and read. Their books had wide selections!

National Art Gallery

We bought our entrance tickets via Klook, as well. The library was so solemn, huge, with high ceilings, and so many rooms to explore. I think it took us more than 2 hours just to see most of the art but still we run out of time. But it was a nice experience to get to see Singapore's beautiful gallery.

Merlion Park

We took a Grab to Merlion because we couldn't walk anymore. It was only a walking distance from the Art Gallery but our feet hurt so much already. When we arrived, Merlion was flocked with tourists, as expected. We had to find our spot and we were able to capture our photos. Strolled a little just to catch the beautiful MBS at night. It was mesmerizing to watch.

We took a Grab again to Lau Pa Sat for our dinner. We didn't have the best experience. Our expectation was high since it was so commercialized and you'll see it being endorsed in every content creator who visits SG. But our experience was meh. 😑 I liked one dish that I ordered but I forgot the name. We didn't like the coffee we got ourselves at Hook Coffee. We just thought the barista was new and had a hard time to make the coffee that we requested. 😢
