"You see things. You keep quiet about them. And you understand."
I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower last night with my mom and sister. I was really impressed by actors! It's the first movie I've seen Emma Watson with a different role! I mean, I have a copy of Ballet Shoes, but haven't seen it yet. :p She's great, as always. Tried hiding her English accent but still fails at some point, but it doesn't really matter 'cause she's forever a stunner (I really had to say it, haha). Logan Lerman is very convincing. He's the perfect Charlie. And Ezra Miller could even win the best supporting actor. He carried every scene all throughout the movie.
The film is flat, in a good way though. You won't realize the rising part, not even the climax nor the low point. It's just average, the feeling is as is. You just gotta watch, pay attention and understand. May I suggest you read the book first before seeing the movie. Some scenes had not been dug deeper. It's not even R-18, so don't expect sensitive scenes like the ones written on the book.
Kudos to Mr. Chbosky for a well-directed and well-written coming of age film.

@ Joyce: I said it's NOT even R-18.
ReplyDelete@ Shari: Yup! Exactly like the book. Fast phase tho. But everything is in there. :-)
