Last Saturday, May 14, we checked in at Oriental Garden in Makati for a surprise birthday party for our friend. We found the place in Airbnb and the unit costs around Php2,000 for an overnight stay. We immediately grabbed it since the unit looks good and cozy from the photos and we were just looking for a cheap but a good place to stay. When we booked it, they only charged us around Php1,800 tax incl (we're not sure why, maybe because they changed the rate, ha). Lucky for us!
The parking fee, though, is kinda pricey. It's Php500 for an overnight stay. Since I'd rather pay that kind of amount for gas, we just parked in Caltex, along Gil Puyat (Buendia), walking distance from the condo. It's safe there since there's KFC and 7-Eleven in the gas station proper. Some, though, are parking their cars along the street beside Oriental Garden. I'm not sure if there's a parking fee, but the street (Export Drive) was occupied by parked cars at night.
The unit was nice and clean. What I loved the most is the designer red sofa. It accentuates the black paint on the wall. There's 1 queen-sized bed with a pull-out, which makes a total of two beds. Also, they don't charge for extra people (we were 8, the room can only accommodate a maximum of 4) which is a GREAT thing.
Bathroom is spacious, except it doesn't have a bidet, which sucks 'cause they also don't have a tabo (dipper). The room has a free Wi-Fi, fridge with freezer, hair dryer, iron, 4 available towels, tissue paper, and kitchen stuff. The room is also well-air conditioned. We didn't get a chance to swim in the pool 'cause they require swim caps (we were aware though, we just didn't bring any hoping they wouldn't be too strict, turned out they were). But overall, we were satisfied. Just a good deal for a budgeted overnight stay.
I just checked again today and the unit rate went down to Php1,537.00 tax excl per night for instant bookings. This is such a bargain! If you're looking for a good place to stay around the metro, you should grab this. Very cheap but in a good quality spot.
Anyway, this is us!
